PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaughn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Glycerine. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyler Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nicholas David!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? David is fending him off so far but Vaughn persists. Nope, David circles away and we're back to standing.
A head kick misses from David.
Tyler Vaughn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vaughn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vaughn lands in his opponent's guard.
David working a defensive guard here.

David escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vaughn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
David keeping moving, preventing Vaughn from controlling successfully.
David looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vaughn is one step ahead there.
David wants to stand and escape but Vaughn is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaughn trying to control the position from guard on top but David is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Vaughn scores a takedown into full mount!
David tries to lock up and control but Vaughn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Vaughn is working for a guillotine from mount but David frees his head quite easily.
Vaughn is breathing heavily.
David is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
David keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

David wants to control but Vaughn is having none of it.
David is trying desperately to improve position.

Vaughn stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
David scores with a kick to the midsection.

David rushes Vaughn and presses him up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
David can't get the takedown.

David decides to pull guard.
Vaughn stopping the sweep attempt from David.
Vaughn wants to pass the guard but David is keeping the position.
Vaughn controlling from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vaughn seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down David for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
David can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vaughn controls the pace.
Vaughn wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tyler Vaughn just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vaughn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says David as he avoids it easily.

Vaughn closes the distance and clinches.
A right hand to the body from Vaughn.
David tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vaughn tries for a takedown. No joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Vaughn dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


David misses with a few strikes there.

David shoots in and bounces Vaughn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

David is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
David trying to control but Vaughn is working from the bottom.
Vaughn is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Vaughn has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think David should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Vaughn has tightened it up now! David should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
