PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Schiknsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schiknsi comes into the arena with Po Russki blaring out of the sound system. Jackson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joker & The Thief. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Jackson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Schiknsi. Schiknsi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Schiknsi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jackson is pressed up against the cage. Schiknsi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Schiknsi is breathing heavily.
Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schiknsi shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Schiknsi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Schiknsi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schiknsi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
