The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buttkicker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Couture circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Couture looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Couture instigates a clinch.

Couture jumps guard and drags Buttkicker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Couture lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Buttkicker!
Couture can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Buttkicker is looking to escape.

Couture wants to finish this one by submission but Buttkicker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Couture.
Couture has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Buttkicker is trying to escape the mount but Couture keeps good control and instead manages to take Buttkicker's back.
I really don't envy Buttkicker right now.

Couture might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Buttkicker kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture is cranking Buttkicker's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Buttkicker! He's tightened the choke and Buttkicker is tapping out!
