Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Dignam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Luther!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dignam connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Luther thows a body shot but no joy.
David Luther seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Luther motions for Dignam to come forward. Luther throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Dignam checks a low kick from Luther.
Luther tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dignam was well out of range. Poor timing from Luther.
Dignam fails with a takedown attempt.

Luther moves into the clinch.
Dignam wants a takedown.
Luther is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Luther escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dignam fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Luther manages to avoid it.
Dignam fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Dignam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dignam blocks a jab.
Luther throws out a leg kick but Dignam moves out of range and Luther only half commits.
Luther throws a front kick aimed at Dignam's knee but Dignam avoids it well.
Luther throws a jab when Dignam was well out of range.
Luther comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dignam fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dignam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Luther looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dignam working away.
Dignam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luther keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Luther can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dignam is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Luther knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dignam landing a few strikes.
Luther tries to buck Dignam off but Dignam is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luther can't do much from the bottom here.
Luther really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dignam. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dignam looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dignam remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Dignam is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Luther has escaped the position, nice work there.

Luther tries to buck Dignam off but Dignam is having none of it.

Dignam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Luther is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dignam's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Dignam! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Luther has tapped! This one is allllll over!
