The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bater feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bater avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bater loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Bater with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bater postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bater works over JoMack with some ground and pound from guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bater won't allow JoMack to sweep him here.
Bater knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for JoMack on the ground.
Bater passes JoMack's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bater decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Bater rushes JoMack and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bater blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bater breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crack! A monster head kick from Bater and JoMack falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Bater!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Leroy Bater!
