PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Tuten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuten comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Whoa kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Josh Pulver could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Terry Tuten's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Pulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terry Tuten!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuten throws a nice looking combination but Pulver bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pulver misses with a double jab
and Tuten counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tuten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pulver.
Pulver tries to close the distance and clinch but Tuten swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tuten tried to score with a low kick but Pulver checks it.
Pulver moves out of range of the strikes.
A nice combination there by Tuten.
Tuten waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pulver.
Tuten throws a shot from downtown. Pulver moves away and avoids it.
Pulver on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tuten with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Pulver is breathing heavily.
A cross from Tuten lands.
Tuten looks to throw the jab but Pulver is out of range.
Pulver walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Tuten checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Some bone on bone action there as Tuten checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Tuten pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tuten will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pulver tried to score with a low kick but Tuten checks it.
Tuten lands with a hook. Pulver tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tuten misses with an uppercut.
Tuten slips a straight right by Pulver.
Tuten takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Tuten lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Pulver throws a lazy head kick
and Tuten counters with a good, hard body kick but Pulver shrugs it off.
Tuten lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tuten comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tuten might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Tuten drops Pulver with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Pulver! Tuten dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
