The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas fails with the takedown.

Stife wants to clinch up but Ruas keeps it at a distance.

and Ruas counters with a single leg into guard. Stife didn't expect that.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ruas tries to close the distance and clinch but Stife swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ruas shoots in looking for a takedown. Stife tries to sprawl out of it but Ruas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stife manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ruas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stife wants to try and get back to his feet.

Ruas is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Stife is forced to tap! Great finish!
