Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Jay!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jay scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Evans blocks the body kick.
Jay keeps Evans at a distance using the push kick.

Jay rushes Evans and presses him up against the cage.
Jay has Evans pressed against the cage.
Evans jumps guard but Jay stands there with Evans around his waist. Evans gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Evans tries to break free but Jay pushes him back against the cage.

Jay throws an elbow but it misses.
Evans avoids the elbow strike from Jay, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jay just misses with a elbow thrown towards Evans's brow.
Jay lands an elbow just above Evans 's eye.
Jay lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Paul Evans has been cut.

The referee calls for Jay to work.
Evans tries to circle away but Jay has him pinned against the cage.

Jay is trying to trip Evans. He has hold of a leg but Evans is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jay persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Jay passes Evans's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jay is pressing down on Evans's thigh, looking to free his foot. Evans is holding on for now.
Jay seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jay is keen to just control but Evans is a slippery customer.
Jay wants to pass the guard but Evans is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jay swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Evans is now in Jay's guard. A big mistake from Jay there, giving up the dominant position!

Evans throws and elbow that misses. Jay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Evans's guard. Nice move by Jay!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jay wants to pass to mount but Evans is defending the position.

Jay seems to be looking for submissions.
Jay frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Evans stops Jay from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Jay working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Evans looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Jay! Submission of the night perhaps?
