Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Marchetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marchetti comes to the cage accompanied by Slipknot - Only One. Walters is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Raibow in the Dark!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Marchetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Albert Walters!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walters lands with a straight right. Marchetti didn't see that one coming.
The fighters circling - Marchetti throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Marchetti misses with a head kick.
Marchetti misses with a body kick.
Walters misses with an attempted mid kick.
Marchetti misses with the body kick
and Walters counters with a right hand to the body.
Walters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

A big head kick from Walters and Marchetti is sent sprawling to the canvas!


Marchetti is rocked!
Walters trying to control but Marchetti is working from the bottom.
Walters trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Marchetti manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Walters tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Marchetti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Walters looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Walters looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Walters!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marchetti tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walters wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marchetti is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Walters is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Walters tries to control but Marchetti wriggling away.

Walters is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Marchetti has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Walters raining down shots from the mount!
Walters throws some wild stikes that Marchetti manages to avoid easily.

Walters goes for an armbar but Marchetti turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Marchetti.

Marchetti tries to free his leg and advance position but Walters is retaining full guard.
Marchetti is breathing heavily.
Walters wants to sweep but no luck.

Walters is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are battling for position here. Marchetti manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Walters trying to control but Marchetti is working from the bottom.
Walters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marchetti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walters throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marchetti works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Walters postures up in Marchetti's guard and throws a big left but Marchetti blocks it.
Marchetti keeping moving, preventing Walters from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Marchetti takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Walters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marchetti throws a lazy head kick

and Walters counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Marchetti's guard now.
Walters looking to sit in guard and control but Marchetti gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Marchetti sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Walters's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Marchetti stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Walters to get to his feet.

and Walters counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Marchetti!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Marchetti fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Walters manages to avoid it.
Marchetti lands with an uppercut that bounces Walters off the cage and back into rage.

and Walters counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Marchetti lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Walters!

Walters throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Walters is breathing heavily.
Marchetti winds up and cracks Walters with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Walters has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marchetti is working away from the top position though.
Marchetti tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Walters wants to control but Marchetti is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Walters is trying to get back to full guard.

Marchetti seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Walters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marchetti swivels and escapes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Walters counters with a series of strikes. Marchetti will be more careful next time no doubt.
Walters rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marchetti moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Marchetti drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Marchetti grinds an elbow into Walters's temple.
Walters on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Walters is trying to escape the position but Marchetti is controlling the position.

Walters takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Walters manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Marchetti wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Matt Marchetti will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Marchetti lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Walters at a distance.
Walters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marchetti swivels and escapes.
Walters closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marchetti circles away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Walters.
Walters moves in looking to clinch but Marchetti pushes him off.
Walters works Marchetti's body with a nice hook.

Walters shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marchetti but Marchetti pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Marchetti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Marchetti is working for a kimura but Walters is defending it quite comfortably.

Marchetti is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Walters makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Oh Marchetti is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Matt Marchetti has been cut.
Marchetti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Albert Walters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
