The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monteiro fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Monteiro darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Monteiro wants to control but Romziel is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Monteiro in particular looking to stall.
Monteiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romziel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Romziel shoots in looking for a takedown. Monteiro tries to sprawl out of it but Romziel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Monteiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Monteiro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Romziel circles away quickly and effectively.
Monteiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
