The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shottah looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
johnson is staying tight to Shottah's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Shottah is looking for a sweep.

Let's hope that johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shottah is trying to defend but johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Shottah gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Shottah takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
