PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Murth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden Rosenthal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murth's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Enemy. Rosenthal is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rick Derringer - I Am a Real American. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Murth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Holden Rosenthal!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murth keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rosenthal.
Murth misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Murth fails to land with a series of punches.
Rosenthal scores with a jab to the head.
Rosenthal throws a series of punches but Murth moves out of range.
Murth moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Rosenthal misses with a double jab.
Murth throws a nice looking combination but Rosenthal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rosenthal is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Murth's half guard.
Rosenthal trying to control from half guard but Murth is working away.
Murth wants to get back to full guard.
Rosenthal is trying to control. Murth wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Murth is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rosenthal missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rosenthal looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Rosenthal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rosenthal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Murth knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rosenthal scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Murth moves out of range as Rosenthal strikes.
Murth bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Murth thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rosenthal misses the shot to the body.
Murth leaves Rosenthal with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Murth misses with a double jab.
Rosenthal takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fighters circling - Rosenthal throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Murth throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rosenthal.
Rosenthal uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Murth.
Murth misses with a double jab.
Rosenthal pivots, looking for a leg kick but Murth is out of range and Rosenthal settles back down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rosenthal ducks under a wild hook from Murth.
Holden Rosenthal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rosenthal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rosenthal takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Murth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Murth trying to control the action but Rosenthal is working from the bottom.
Rosenthal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Murth wants to free his trapped foot but Rosenthal is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Murth is looking for a kimura here.
Rosenthal is looking for a sweep. Murth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rosenthal makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rosenthal.

Murth has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rosenthal to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Murth is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rosenthal pulls down on the head and he's put Murth to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Holden Rosenthal!
