And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chance Powell!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester tries to clinch up.
Powell fails with a takedown attempt.
Winchester connects with a right hand. Powell shakes it off.


It looks like Chance Powell has been cut.
Winchester throws a right and a left that both miss.

Winchester instigates a clinch.

Winchester breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dean Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Winchester tries to close the distance and clinch but Powell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Powell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Winchester.

Winchester drops Powell with a beautiful combination! Powell stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Winchester is looking for the KO!


Powell is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Winchester throws a series of punches but Powell avoids them all with ease.
Powell is still on wobbly legs! Can Winchester finish him?

Winchester forces Powell back against the cage and clinches.

Winchester's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Winchester misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Powell seems to have recovered his senses.
Winchester tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Winchester breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Powell.
Powell tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Winchester sneaks out the side door and pushes Powell away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Winchester darts in and clinches Powell up against the cage.

Winchester breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Powell swats away the attempt to clinch by Winchester.

Winchester drives through and clinches with Powell against the cage.
Winchester wants to break free but Powell has control.
Winchester is looking to break free of the clinch but Powell has double underhooks.

Winchester escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Winchester lands a left and a right that send Powell crashing to the mat, dazed. Winchester thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Powell fails with the takedown.
Dean Winchester is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Winchester misses with an uppercut.

Winchester rushes Powell and presses him up against the cage.

Winchester pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Powell slips a jab and a cross from Winchester.
Powell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winchester circles away.
Dean Winchester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chance Powell.

Winchester forces Powell back against the cage and clinches.

Winchester breaks the clinch.
Winchester misses with a looping left.

Powell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Winchester knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powell on the ground.

Winchester tries to kick Powell off but Powell keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Winchester forces Powell back against the cage and clinches.

Powell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Winchester sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Winchester tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Powell was well out of range. Poor timing from Winchester.
Winchester will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Powell wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Winchester just misses with a punch to the body.

and Winchester counters with a one-two to the body.
Winchester throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Winchester tries to clinch but Powell moves out of range.
Winchester tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Winchester slaps away a takedown attempt from Powell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Powell keeps the fight on the outside.

Winchester fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Powell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
No joy there for Winchester, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Winchester tries to bum rush Powell with a series of wild strikes but Powell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Horrible takedown by Powell or perhaps it was just good defense by Winchester which made him look bad.

Winchester can't keep his opponent in guard - Powell advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Winchester looks like he's trying to stand up.
Winchester is not content to let Powell control the position.

Powell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Winchester tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Powell!
