The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Davies.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Davies swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith is looking to clinch but Davies is avoiding it.
Davies has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Davies there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like David Davies has been cut.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Davies misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Davies closes the distance looking to clinch

and Smith counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Smith creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Davies's defenses.
Smith lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

That has opened up David Davies's cut even more.
