The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pit shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Pit tries to clinch up.
Pit shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Pit's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pit is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Pit misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pit regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jackson.

Jackson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jackson stands up over Pit, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Pit is retaining full guard.
Jackson pushes down on Pit's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson trying to mount his opponent but Pit defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pit's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Jackson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pit misses with a takedown attempt

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pit won't be happy with that.
Oh Pit is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson lands a decent elbow from side control.
Jackson cracks Pit with a big right hand but Pit just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pit takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jackson lands some shots froms side control.

Pit manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jackson lands with a punch from half guard.
Jackson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pit moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Pit is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jackson is working Pit over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has Pit in his guard.

Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pit seems to have got his legs back now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pit pushing down on Jackson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Jackson wants to improve his position but Pit is controlling well.

Jackson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Pit is in a horrible position here. Jackson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Jackson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pit turns into him and now he's in Jackson's guard.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pit can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pit wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.
Jackson tries to strike from the bottom.

Jackson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pit should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jackson has tightened it up now! Pit should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
