The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lycan tries to clinch up.
Hearted keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hearted clinches up with Lycan and pushes him back against the cage.

Hearted thows a huge punch but Lycan dodges it nicely.

Hearted stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lycan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hearted is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lycan has hold of Hearted's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hearted manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hearted swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Poor strikes thrown by Lycan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lycan wants to finish this one by submission but Hearted is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lycan.

Hearted working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lycan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lycan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lucius Lycan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
