Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edmundo Vascaino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vekkuli Toveri!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vascaino instigates a clinch.
Toveri misses with an elbow strike.
Vascaino has a couple of punches blocked by Toveri.
Toveri missing with knees to the body.
Toveri blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Toveri manages to break the clinch.
Vascaino takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Vascaino slips under a jab.
Vascaino tries to close the distance and clinch up but Toveri swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Toveri cracks Vascaino with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Toveri tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Toveri lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vascaino circles away quickly and effectively.
Vascaino tries to clinch there but Toveri circles away.
Vascaino tries to clinch but Toveri moves out of range.
Toveri thumps Vascaino with a low kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Toveri avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Toveri drops Vascaino with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Vascaino looks back up at him and smiles so Toveri waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Vascaino is rocked!
Toveri lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Vascaino - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Toveri!
