Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Mcgrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nasir Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Mcgrath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nasir Jones!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Mcgrath falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mcgrath won't be happy with that.

Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcgrath keeps working.

The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mcgrath is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcgrath does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mcgrath.

and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mcgrath's guard.

Nasir Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mcgrath to the mat! Mcgrath manages to get full guard.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mcgrath pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcgrath, who protects the arm well.
Mcgrath tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Mcgrath grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Mcgrath is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Dylan Mcgrath has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mcgrath is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jones gets his way!

Jones has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mcgrath has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
