PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fatty McFatty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fire comes to the cage accompanied by Deaftones - Head Up. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Fire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fatty McFatty!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFatty tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fire stuffs the takedown.
McFatty fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fire defending well as McFatty loads up on a big left hand.

Fire rushes McFatty and presses him up against the cage.
Fire lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Fire manages to pull guard.
McFatty wants to get up but he can't break Fire's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fire controls McFatty momentarily but McFatty frees himself.

Fire looking for a guillotine here but McFatty defends easily.
McFatty tries to stand but Fire is controlling from the bottom.
McFatty must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McFatty is pushing down on Fire's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fire is fighting to maintain full guard but McFatty has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fire really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fire makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fire.
McFatty postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McFatty trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fire can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McFatty controls the pace.
Fire looking to hit a scissor sweep but McFatty is one step ahead there.
Fire is breathing heavily.
Fire lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McFatty!
McFatty working to try and regain half guard.
Fire looking to control but McFatty is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fire putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Fire tries to control but McFatty wriggling away.
McFatty is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McFatty wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Fire trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Fire doesn't have the hooks in and McFatty manages to turn into his guard.
McFatty preventing the sweep.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McFatty lands a nice hook to Fire's body. Fire takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McFatty cracks a nice hook into Fire's ribs.
Fire slips a straight right by McFatty.
McFatty misses with a body shot.

Fire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fire tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Fire stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fire closes this distance looking for a takedown but McFatty circles away.
Fire steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McFatty.
A big left from McFatty misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McFatty throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McFatty ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fire moves away.
McFatty is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Fire rather than just go for the knockout.
Fire moves out of range as McFatty strikes.

Fire changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McFatty looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McFatty tries to bench press Fire off him but Fire keeps the position.
Fire content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
McFatty regains half guard.

Fire seems to be working for a kimura but McFatty defends the submission attempt.
Fire wants to take a breather but McFatty is having none of it.
Fire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fire gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
A jab from McFatty misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fire gets the takedown into side control.

Fire wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McFatty, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fire controls the position.
Fire wants to control but McFatty is keeping him busy.
Fire controls the position.
McFatty is not content to let Fire control the position.

Fire decides to stand back up. Fire steps back and let's McFatty get back to his feet.
McFatty is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
McFatty misses with a looping left.
Fire shoots for a double leg takedown but McFatty sprawls well. He's pushed Fire's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fire uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McFatty.

Fire drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McFatty controls Fire momentarily but Fire frees himself.
McFatty looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fire puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Fire dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McFatty throws a looping overhand right but Fire ducks down to avoid it.
Fire tries to clinch up but McFatty circles away and keeps his distance.
Fire looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Jason Fire has been cut.
Fire fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fire gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Fire is rocked!
McFatty drops Fire with a big left hand! Fire is injured, injured bad! McFatty jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fatty McFatty!
