The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waul misses with the combination.
Tchepikov shoots for a double leg takedown but Waul sprawls well. He's pushed Tchepikov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A big right from Waul misses.
Waul stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Tchepikov tries for a takedown but Waul sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Waul misses with a double jab.
Tchepikov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Waul has time to react.
Waul lands a jab to the nose.

It looks like Maksimilian Tchepikov has been cut.

Tchepikov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tchepikov dodges the punch combination from Waul.
Tchepikov tries to clinch but Waul is having none of it.

Waul swats away the attempt to clinch by Tchepikov.
Waul scores with a hook to the body. Tchepikov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Waul takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Waul uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tchepikov.

Waul drops Tchepikov with a right and a left! Waul comes rushing in but Tchepikov regains his composure and manages to keep Waul in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tchepikov is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Waul has latched onto it... Big trouble! Waul pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Tchepikov is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Waul!
