The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre shoots for a double leg takedown but Nocauteador sprawls well. He's pushed Pierre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nocauteador, who protects the arm well.
Pierre creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nocauteador sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nocauteador sneaks out the side door and pushes Pierre away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Nocauteador changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierre tries to avoid it but Nocauteador manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierre to the ground. Pierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pierre has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pierre there as he acknowledges the shot.

Pierre has Nocauteador pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nocauteador manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nocauteador is trying to drag Pierre to the mat but Pierre just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pierre shoots in but no luck this time.

and Pierre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nocauteador's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierre postures up in Nocauteador's guard and throws a big left but Nocauteador blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Pierre dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Pierre or perhaps it was just good defense by Nocauteador which made him look bad.
