Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Barzakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barzakov comes to the cage accompanied by Alexander The Great by Iron Maiden. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Barzakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Cowen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Barzakov with that takedown attempt.
Barzakov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cowen tries to close the distance and clinch but Barzakov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barzakov misses with the combination.
Barzakov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barzakov misses with a body shot.
Barzakov looks for the body kick but Cowen saw that one coming.
Barzakov swats away the attempt to clinch by Cowen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barzakov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cowen is looking to clinch but Barzakov is avoiding it.

Barzakov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Barzakov wants to pass the guard but Cowen is keeping the position.
Barzakov lands a couple of elbows.

Cowen looking for a guillotine here but Barzakov defends easily.
Barzakov stays in close to Cowen's body and controls the position.

Cowen is looking to sinch up a triangle. Barzakov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cowen's body to avoid the submission. Cowen has instead reached around Barzakov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cowen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
