PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Malham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malham has chosen Amorphis - House of Sleep as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Malham!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hogan lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Malham is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hogan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Malham stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Malham wants it to stay on the feet.

Malham lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hogan circles away quickly and effectively.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Malham postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hogan looks a forlorn figure.

Hogan avoids a series of strikes thrown by Malham.

John Malham showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hulk Hogan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulk Hogan.
Well Malham has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
