PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Venkman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Stuber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stuber comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bodies kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Cody Stuber enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Venkman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Stuber!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stuber throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Venkman looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Venkman.
Venkman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Venkman tries to clinch up.
Venkman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stuber as he jumps to the side.
Stuber fails with the takedown

so Venkman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Venkman stopping the sweep attempt from Stuber.

Stuber has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Venkman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stuber wants to stand but Venkman is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stuber looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Stuber is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Stuber is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Venkman is controlling him.
Stuber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Venkman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Venkman tries to free his leg and advance position but Stuber is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stuber closes the distance and clinches.
Stuber misses with a knee strike.

Stuber breaks the clinch.
Stuber is looking to clinch but Venkman is avoiding it.
Venkman blocks the body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stuber throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Stuber throws a looping overhand right but Venkman ducks down to avoid it.
Stuber tries to clinch but Venkman moves away

and Venkman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stuber won't be happy with that.
Stuber wants to control but Venkman postures up.
Stuber tries to escape but Venkman is in control.

Venkman is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Stuber is trying to escape and Venkman transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Stuber is forced to tap! Nice work there by Venkman! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Peter Venkman!
