Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sir Didymus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Prokopos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Didymus comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the TerrorDome. Prokopos has chosen Deep River Blues - Doc Watson as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sir Didymus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Denny Prokopos!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Didymus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Prokopos sprawls well initially but Didymus persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Prokopos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Didymus shoots in looking for a takedown. Prokopos tries to sprawl out of it but Didymus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Prokopos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Prokopos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Didymus.

Denny Prokopos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Didymus turns into Prokopos and is now in his guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Prokopos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Didymus sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Didymus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Didymus throws and elbow that misses. Prokopos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Didymus's guard. Nice move by Prokopos!

Didymus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Prokopos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Prokopos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Didymus has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Prokopos! Can he survive? No! He's out! Didymus gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
