PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between DRAGON Goto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Baravski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baravski is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Punch Out. The key to victory for DRAGON Goto has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, DRAGON Goto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igor Baravski!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Goto.
Goto shoots in looking for a takedown. Baravski tries to sprawl out of it but Goto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baravski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Goto tries to clinch but Baravski moves out of range.
Goto dodges the punch combination from Baravski.
Goto closes the distance and lands a one-two.
No joy there for Goto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Goto feints and as Baravski raises his hands in defense, Goto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Baravski is looking to stand up but Goto isn't so interested in that idea.

Baravski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Goto wanted to stand there but Baravski had control of the position.

Goto decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Goto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Baravski avoids it really well and circles away.

Goto closes the distance and clinches.
Goto with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Baravski lands an elbow that stopped Goto in his tracks for a moment.
Goto's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Baravski gets through Goto's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Goto throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Baravski blocks it with crossed arms.

Baravski stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Goto with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Baravski lands a left hand that snaps the head of Goto backwards.

Baravski has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Goto is trying to keep an underhook but Baravski manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Baravski gets the takedown into side control.
Goto pushes Baravski away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Baravski gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Baravski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goto keeps working.

Goto explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Baravski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Baravski counters with a straight right hand.

Goto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Baravski is squirming around, avoiding Goto's attempts to control the action.
