PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between abigail austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garrett Oden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oden comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Alchemist. Alchemists. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oden has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Oden there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Garrett Oden has been cut.
Oden takes a head kick and keeps coming.
austin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - austin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
austin throws a head kick but Oden moves out of range.
austin throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
austin scores with a push kick.

austin lands with a nice body punch.

That has opened up Garrett Oden's cut even more.

austin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oden works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oden can do anything to dispel that myth.

austin throws a strike but Oden rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
austin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Oden is controlling him.
austin wants to sweep here but Oden controlling him for the moment.
Oden trying to control but austin is working from the bottom.

austin working for a triangle but Oden defends it easily.
austin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oden on the ground.

Oden is fighting to break austin's control of his arms but austin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Oden postures up in austin's guard and throws a big left but austin blocks it.
Oden stands up over austin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Oden makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

austin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Oden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oden lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

austin lands with a kick to the ribs.

austin lands with a kick to the temple. Oden shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
austin jabs Oden right on the nose. Oden blinks but takes it well.

The cut above Garrett Oden's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

austin drops Oden with a left right combo! austin follows him down to the ground into side control.

Garrett Oden's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Garrett Oden's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
