Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucas Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Miller!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller wants to clinch.

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Knight looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miller is one step ahead there.
Miller forces his way into half guard.
Knight tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Knight pushes Miller off looking to stand but Miller dives back in and keeps control.
Knight knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miller on the ground.
Miller landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Miller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Knight's head.
Miller is thwarting Knight's attempts to control the position.

Miller looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Miller works his way into side control.
Knight is trying to get back to half guard.

Knight wants to control but Miller postures up.
Miller passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Knight!
Miller avoids the attempt from Knight to control.

Knight is wriggling around trying to escape.

Knight's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Knight is looking to improve his position but Miller isn't that keen on the idea.
Knight is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Miller lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Knight tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Miller stopping the sweep attempt from Knight.
Miller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Knight is trying to control the position but Miller postures up.
Miller is breathing heavily.
Miller controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Knight wants to get back to his feet but Miller is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Knight looks to land a body kick but Miller moved away.
Knight tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Knight wants to clinch but Miller slips to the side
and Miller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Knight has a takedown stuffed.
Lucas Knight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Knight closes the distance and clinches.
Miller is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Knight pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Knight misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Miller.
Knight tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Knight has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Knight. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knight jumps guard but Miller stands there with Knight around his waist. Knight gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Miller is pressed up against the cage. Knight has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Miller counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Miller.
Knight has had enough of the clinch but Miller keeps him there for the moment.
Miller is pressed up against the cage. Knight has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Miller counters with a single leg into guard. Knight didn't expect that.

Miller decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Miller shoots in and bounces Knight off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Miller cracks Knight with a solid left hand.
Miller won't allow Knight to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Knight's guard.
Miller is looking to advance position but Knight won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miller connects with a nice short shot to Knight's temple.

Jason Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

and Miller counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Knight is trying to keep Miller in close.

Knight looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Miller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Knight could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Miller is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Knight has managed to free his arm - good work.
Miller wants to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Miller prevents Knight from improving his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Knight throws a head kick but Miller moves out of range.
Knight misses with a takedown attempt - Miller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Miller gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Knight to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jason Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Miller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
