The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to land a front kick but Holliday steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Holliday keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Holliday shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Holliday cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jones tries to hold on but Holliday pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holliday had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.

Holliday has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Holliday escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Holliday has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Holliday dives on top into guard.

Holliday has an Americana. Jones didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Holliday is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Holliday hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
