Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nova Uniao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damon Rekker!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uniao uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rekker.
Uniao bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Uniao tries to move to mount but Rekker blocks the move with his legs.
Rekker parries the strikes from Uniao easily there. Uniao is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rekker to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uniao misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Uniao in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Rekker is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
