Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Goines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Goines might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Neon Genesis Evangelion - Eva Goes Mental AMV. Gracie has chosen Bob Marley - Smoke Two Joints as his entrance music. Jeffrey Goines has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie defending well as Goines loads up on a big left hand.
Goines misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.
Goines with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Goines gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Goines manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Goines prevents Gracie from getting the reversal.
Goines thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Goines takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Goines looking to ground and pound but Gracie is blocking nicely.
Goines prevents Gracie from getting the reversal.
Goines has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Goines's attempts to control the action.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Goines missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Goines is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Goines trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Goines pulls his head out easily.
Goines wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Goines fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gracie sprawls well initially but Goines persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Goines tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gracie.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is in trouble now - Goines has advanced to mount!
Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Goines wants to finish this one by submission but Gracie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Goines.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Goines throws some wild stikes that Gracie manages to avoid easily.
Goines looking to ground and pound but Gracie is blocking nicely.

Goines looking to secure an arm triangle but Gracie defends it well.
Goines lands with some strikes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Goines throws a big shot that misses.
Goines swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Jeffrey Goines seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Goines throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gracie was covering up waiting for the punch and Goines finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Goines is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Goines has managed to sneak the leg through.
Gracie wants to sweep but Goines has passed to side control!

Goines is pressing down on Gracie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gracie is holding on for now.
Gracie is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Goines jumps into side control!

Goines works to advance to full mount. Gracie defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Goines wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely.

Goines wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

Goines seems to be looking for submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Goines tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Goines.

Goines manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gracie wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
A lull in the action here.
Gracie breaks Goines's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Goines is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Goines has escaped and now he's on top!
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gracie tries to get to full guard but Goines has control of the leg.
Goines stalling.
Gracie avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Goines.
Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Goines's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Goines's back!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gracie is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Goines won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Gracie off his unconscious opponent!
