Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Esau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Korter Poundre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poundre has chosen Did My Time as his entrance music. Jacob Esau could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Korter Poundre's chin.

With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korter Poundre!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esau connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Poundre uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Esau.
A swing and a miss from Esau.
Poundre tries to bum rush Esau with a series of wild strikes but Esau uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Esau, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Esau throws a series of punches but Poundre moves out of range.
Poundre checks a low kick from Esau.
Esau throws a front kick aimed at Poundre's knee but Poundre avoids it well.
Esau connects with a jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Poundre darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Esau ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Poundre swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Poundre doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Esau throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Poundre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Esau's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Esau throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Esau tries to bum rush Poundre with a series of wild strikes but Poundre uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jacob Esau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Poundre checks a leg kick.

Esau ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poundre moves away.

Esau is trying to break the clinch but Poundre has him pressed against the cage.
Esau wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Esau is pressed up against the cage. Poundre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Esau down to the mat. Esau avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Poundre checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

and Poundre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Esau won't be happy with that.

Poundre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Esau, who protects the arm well.

Esau tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Poundre wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Esau wants to control but Poundre postures up.
Poundre lands a few punches from side control.

Poundre tries for a kimura but Esau is defending well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Poundre takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Poundre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacob Esau will probably get the nod.

Poundre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Poundre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Esau is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Esau not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Poundre wants to control from the top but Esau keeps moving.
