PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Vlay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ottatukka Oikenee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ottatukka Oikenee!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oikenee throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vlay.
Oikenee blocks a leg kick.
Vlay tries to clinch but Oikenee moves out of range.
Oikenee throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Vlay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vlay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Vlay.
Oikenee throws the kick towards the body but Vlay avoids it.
Oikenee goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Oikenee throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Vlay's head.
Ottatukka Oikenee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Vlay counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vlay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oikenee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Vlay trying to control the position from guard on top but Oikenee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vlay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oikenee is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vlay, into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Oikenee slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Oikenee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vlay is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Oikenee tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vlay is trying to buck Oikenee off.

Oikenee has an Americana. Vlay didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Oikenee is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Oikenee hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
