PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between J G (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mega Masa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, J G!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mega Masa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masa throws a big shot that misses.

Masa gets caught flat footed, as G shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
G passes Masa's left leg - he's now in half guard.
G seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Masa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
G thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
G tries to pass the half guard into mount. Masa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
G is working hard here to advance position.
Masa pushes G off looking to stand but G dives back in and keeps control.
G stalling away here and it's allowed Masa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

G postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Masa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of G, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Masa wanted to stand there but G had control of the position.
G trying to control the position.
G has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
G is trying to hold Masa in close to prevent damage but Masa has managed to pass into half guard.
G trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Masa seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
G is looking to improve his position.
Masa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Masa throws a hook but G blocks it.
The fighters circling - Masa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Masa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
G throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
G throws a body punch but Masa moves out of range.
G shoots for a takedown but Masa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by G.
G wants to control but Masa is keeping him busy.

G looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
G trying to control the action but Masa is working from the bottom.

Masa is looking to regain half guard here but G keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here as G stalls from top position.
G trying to control the position but Masa is working away.
G controls the position from side control.

G has hold of Masa's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Masa seems comfortable defending it but G has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Masa is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Masa is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but G couldn't care less - he's delighted!
