Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sweeney Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Todd has chosen Never Forget, Never Forgive.. as his entrance music. Kendall Alves has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sweeney Todd!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Alves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Todd swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Alves counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Alves missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alves avoids the body shot from Todd.
Alves punishes Todd's body with a nice straight punch.
Alves stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Todd is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Todd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Todd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Todd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alves has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Todd has managed to get both his arms back between Alves's legs - danger averted.

Alves is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Todd defends well.

Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Todd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alves cracks Todd with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Todd is sitting in close to Alves's body. Alves has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Todd is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Todd is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Alves.
