Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gegard Sipowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sipowicz has chosen Highway to Hell as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gegard Sipowicz!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sipowicz fails to land the takedown.
Man cracks Sipowicz with an open hand slap.
Sipowicz dodges the punch combination from Man.

Man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sipowicz sprawls well initially but Man persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Man is looking for a kimura here.

Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sipowicz sees it coming and defends easily.

Man is working for a kimura but Sipowicz is defending it quite comfortably.

Man is working for a submission of some sort.

Man is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sipowicz has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sipowicz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Man is breathing heavily.
Man is thwarting Sipowicz's attempts to control the position.

Man is working for a kimura but Sipowicz is defending it quite comfortably.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sipowicz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Man looking for a submission but Sipowicz manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sipowicz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Man is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sipowicz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sipowicz has escaped and now he's on top!

Sipowicz is looking to stand up but Man won't let him.

Man has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sipowicz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Man.
Man is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Man is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Man is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sipowicz wants to stand but Man has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Still in half guard, Sipowicz seems content to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Man wants to get back to full guard but Sipowicz has passed into side control.
Sipowicz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Man is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Man dominated that round.
That's time! Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Man uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sipowicz.
Man shoots in for a double leg but Sipowicz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Man throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Man misses with a few strikes there.
Man takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sipowicz misses with a head kick.
Sipowicz swinging wildly here.
Sipowicz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sipowicz misses with a looping left.
Man throws a right hand that Sipowicz ducks under and follows up with a left that Sipowicz also avoids with ease.
Sipowicz connects with a body shot.
Man gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sipowicz.
Man avoids the body shot from Sipowicz.
Sipowicz throws a shot from downtown. Man moves away and avoids it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Man blocks a jab.
Sipowicz throws a head kick that misses.
Man fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Man scores with a body shot.
Sipowicz tries a head kick but it misses.
Man swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sipowicz counters with a two punch combo.
Man just misses with a punch to the body.
Sipowicz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Man ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Man misses with a wild combination.
Danga de danga de dang - Sipowicz scores with a four punch combination!
Man is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sipowicz.
A combination from Sipowicz does no damage.
Sipowicz throws a shot from downtown. Man moves away and avoids it.
Man throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Man throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sipowicz sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Man drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Man postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sipowicz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Man, into his guard.
Sipowicz wants to stand but Man has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sipowicz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sipowicz wants to pass the guard but Man is keeping the position.
Sipowicz wants to get up but he can't break Man's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sipowicz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Man swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sipowicz stopping the sweep attempt from Man.

Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sipowicz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sipowicz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Man wants to sweep but no luck.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Man is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Man in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sipowicz tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). The Man!
