The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blunt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Woodward paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Blunt misses with a low kick.
Blunt throws a hook to the side of Woodward's head but Woodward sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blunt tries to clinch but Woodward moves out of range.

Blunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Woodward.

Blunt clinches up with Woodward and pushes him back against the cage.

Blunt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Woodward uses from the top position.
Woodward drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blunt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blunt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blunt!
Woodward stops Blunt from passing to mount.

Blunt is working to tighten is grip on Woodward's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Woodward has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Blunt is really squeezing tight and eventually Woodward passes out! Blunt breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
