Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Del Arlio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Del Arlio.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Griffin.
Griffin closes the distance and clinches up with Del Arlio, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes Del Arlio against the cage but Del Arlio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Del Arlio shoots and misses

and Griffin counters by moving into the clinch.
Del Arlio looks gassed!
Griffin tries to score a body lock takedown but Del Arlio shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forrest Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Griffin pulls guard successfully.

Griffin is looking for a triangle but Del Arlio pushes his legs off easily.

Griffin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Del Arlio throwing strikes but missing.

Del Arlio working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Del Arlio avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Del Arlio works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Del Arlio working the head and body with strikes.
Del Arlio wants to control but Griffin is keeping him busy.
Griffin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Del Arlio.

Del Arlio tries to pass the half guard into mount. Griffin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Del Arlio thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Griffin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Del Arlio pulls his head out easily.

Del Arlio is thwarting Griffin's attempts to control the position.
Del Arlio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Del Arlio not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Del Arlio misses with the combination.
Del Arlio throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Griffin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Griffin.
Del Arlio tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Griffin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Griffin goes for a takedown attempt but Del Arlio pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Del Arlio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Del Arlio content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Griffin has locked up a guillotine! Griffin's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Del Arlio is holding on here and Griffin must be using up a lot of energy. Del Arlio has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Griffin gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
