Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Overmars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overmars has chosen Union Underground - Across The Nation as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Michel Overmars!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overmars pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Overmars tries to clinch but Bear moves out of range.
Overmars throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bear.
Overmars misses with a leg kick.
Bear is looking to clinch.

Bear forces Overmars back against the cage and clinches.
Bear throws a knee to the head but misses.

Overmars pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Overmars misses the shot to the body.
Overmars uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bear.
Bear dodges the punch combination from Overmars.
Overmars misses with a low kick.
Bear jabs at Overmars's body.
Overmars looks gassed!
Overmars will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bear shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Overmars pinned against the cage. Overmars gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bear shoots for a double leg takedown but Overmars sprawls well. He's pushed Bear's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Overmars just misses with a punch to the body.

Bear shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Overmars manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bear wants to get up but he can't break Overmars's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bear wants to control from the top but Overmars keeps moving.
Bear is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Overmars is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bear throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Overmars works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Overmars is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Overmars is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bear trying to stand up but can't free himself from Overmars's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bear shoots for a takedown but Overmars saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bear misses with a few strikes there.
Overmars moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Overmars misses with a body shot

and Bear counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Overmars is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bear prevents Overmars from getting back to his feet.
Overmars looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bear is one step ahead there.
Overmars wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Overmars lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bear!
Bear is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Overmars wants to control the pace but Bear is squirming around nicely.
Bear tries to hold on but Overmars pushes him away.
Bear really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear wants to control but Overmars is having none of it.
Bear is trying to stand up.
Overmars sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Overmars can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bear is looking to escape.

Bear somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Overmars clinches with his opponent.
Overmars lands an elbow inside that Bear shrugs off.


It looks like Max Bear has been cut.
Overmars gets underhooks to prevent Bear's takedown attempt.

Overmars breaks the clinch.
Overmars looks to land a left hand but Bear moved out of range nicely.
Overmars fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bear manages to avoid it.
A punch lands to the side of Bear 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bear fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Overmars moves into the clinch successfully.

Overmars breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Overmars darts in and clinches Bear up against the cage.

Overmars breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Overmars feints and then cracks Bear's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bear down.
Overmars lands a right hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Overmars swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bear.
Overmars buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Overmars sends Bear crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Overmars is motioning to the referee to let Bear up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Bear is rocked!
Overmars moves in close and cracks Bear with a massive right hand! Bear, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Overmars!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michel Overmars!
