PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jugguernaut The Unstoppable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Weben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jugguernaut The Unstoppable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Weben!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weben shoots in but The Unstoppable avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The Unstoppable tries to score a power double leg takedown but Weben sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten The Unstoppable somewhat.
Weben keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Weben shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Unstoppable as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jugguernaut The Unstoppable. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Weben throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck The Unstoppable on the side of the head.
Weben fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Unstoppable avoids it really well and circles away.

Weben can't keep his opponent in guard - The Unstoppable advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Weben is looking for a sweep. The Unstoppable is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The Unstoppable working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The Unstoppable wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weben keeps working.
Weben tries to roll over but The Unstoppable keeps him under control.
The Unstoppable is looking to take a break and control but Weben is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The Unstoppable perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The Unstoppable is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Weben defends it well.
The Unstoppable is trying to control. Weben wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The Unstoppable shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weben but Weben pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The Unstoppable drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Weben is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. The Unstoppable is defending well for now.

The Unstoppable pushes Weben back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The Unstoppable breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The Unstoppable closes the distance and clinches up with Weben, looking for a takedown. The Unstoppable pushes Weben against the cage but Weben circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Weben stuns The Unstoppable with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Weben is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weben can do anything to dispel that myth.

Weben wants to stand but The Unstoppable is controlling the position.
Weben is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Weben seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Weben wants to control from the top but The Unstoppable keeps moving.
Weben slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Unstoppable bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Weben's guard.
Weben controls The Unstoppable momentarily but The Unstoppable frees himself.
The Unstoppable pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Weben is keeping the position for now.
The Unstoppable really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Weben is looking for a triangle but The Unstoppable pushes his legs off easily.

The Unstoppable will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Weben wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Weben stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Weben wants it to stay on the feet.

The Unstoppable tries to bum rush Weben with a series of wild strikes but Weben uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Weben changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Unstoppable tries to avoid it but Weben manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Unstoppable to the ground. The Unstoppable escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chris Weben showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! The Unstoppable's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

No joy there for Weben, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Weben shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in The Unstoppable's guard.

Weben bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jugguernaut The Unstoppable overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Weben thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Weben really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Unstoppable. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The Unstoppable prevents Weben from improving position.
Weben misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The Unstoppable manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Weben performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Weben is trying to control the action in half guard but The Unstoppable is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The Unstoppable is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Weben's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Weben's back!

I think Weben has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
