The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pakkanen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bang's guard.

Pakkanen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The referee asks Pakkanen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pakkanen prefers to stall for the moment though.

Pakkanen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pakkanen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Pakkanen uses his free foot to push down on Bang's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bang.
