Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rufus McGrufus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideaki Katsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideaki Katsu!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrufus throws out a loose jab but Katsu uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGrufus throws a head kick but Katsu moves out of range.
McGrufus pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McGrufus throws a sloppy head kick and Katsu moves out of range easily.
Katsu shoots in for a takedown but McGrufus shows good takedown defense.
McGrufus misses with a straight right.
Katsu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGrufus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Katsu moves away.

McGrufus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McGrufus wants it to stay on the feet.
Katsu has a takedown stuffed.
Rufus McGrufus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hideaki Katsu.
Katsu shoots in looking for a takedown. McGrufus tries to sprawl out of it but Katsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGrufus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Katsu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McGrufus.
McGrufus throws a hook but Katsu blocks it.
McGrufus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Katsu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McGrufus lands with a hook. Katsu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McGrufus throws a body punch but Katsu moves out of range.
McGrufus cracks Katsu with a right hand to the side of the head.
McGrufus fails to land with a series of punches.
McGrufus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McGrufus swings for the body but Katsu moves out of range.
McGrufus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Katsu moves away.
McGrufus does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Horrible takedown by Katsu or perhaps it was just good defense by McGrufus which made him look bad.

Nice straight punches there by McGrufus. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McGrufus.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Katsu has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can McGrufus defend it? Katsu steps over the head and cranks it - McGrufus is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Katsu!
