PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maia Bee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jian Lieu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lieu has chosen "Da Rockwilder" by Method Man and Redman as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Lieu.
Bee throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Bee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lieu misses with the combination.
Lieu misses with a looping right.
Bee scores with a spinning back kick!
Lieu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bee throws a leg kick but Lieu moved away.
Lieu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bee.
Bee lands with a thumping leg kick.

Bee throws a leg kick that misses.
Bee attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lieu takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A low kick from Lieu is predictable there
and Bee counters with a slapping leg kick.
Bee throws a chopping leg kick but Lieu manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Lieu throws a jab but it's blocked by Bee.
Lieu lands a really nice looking cross but Bee seems unphased.
Bee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bee finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lieu throws a series of punches but Bee moves out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Bee.
Lieu thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lieu swings for the body but Bee moves out of range.
Bee throws a leg kick that misses.
Bee tries to score with a low kick but Lieu moves his leg out of the way.
Bee throws a leg kick but Lieu moved away.
Bee walks into a stiff left hand from Lieu.
Lieu throws a hook but Bee blocks it.
Bee throws a leg kick but Lieu sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Lieu loads up on a big right hand but Bee slips the punch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bee. That's going to slow Lieu down.
Bee moves out of range of the strikes.
Lieu digs a good body shot into Bee's ribs.
Lieu misses with a straight left.
Bee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The fighters circling - Lieu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bee dodges the punch combination from Lieu.
Bee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lieu.

Bee defending well as Lieu loads up on a big left hand.
Lieu moves out of range of the body kick from Bee.
Lieu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lieu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bee was well out of range. Poor timing from Lieu.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bee.
Bee attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Bee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maia Bee dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lieu shoots in and drives through. Bee sprawls well.
Lieu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A big left from Lieu misses.
Bee connects with a high kick.
Bee displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lieu throws out the jab.
Bee scores with a spinning back kick!
Bee scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lieu just misses with a punch to the body.
Bee takes one to the side of the head.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Lieu misses with a body shot
and Bee counters with a nice body kick.

Bee tried to score with a low kick but Lieu checks it.
Bee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bee lands a head kick!
Bee misses with a head kick.
Bee looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Lieu throws a jab but it's blocked by Bee.
Bee pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bee clinches up with Lieu and pushes him back against the cage.
Lieu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lieu takes an elbow to the temple.
Lieu fails to pull guard.
Maia Bee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jian Lieu.
Bee lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Jian Lieu has been cut.

Lieu decides to pull guard.
Lieu is trying to keep Bee in close.

Bee is sitting in close to Lieu's body. Lieu has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Bee is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Bee is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lieu.
