PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Masterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genival Lacerda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Masterson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Stinkfist. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Masterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Genival Lacerda!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masterson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lacerda shoots in looking for a takedown. Masterson tries to sprawl out of it but Lacerda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lacerda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lacerda tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masterson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lacerda somewhat.
Bruno Masterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genival Lacerda.
Lacerda doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lacerda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lacerda lands in his opponent's guard.
Masterson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lacerda wants to pass the guard but Masterson is keeping the position.
Masterson is adopting a defensive guard.

Masterson pushes Lacerda off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Lacerda tries a head kick but it misses.
Masterson thows a body shot but no joy.
Masterson thows a left - swing and a miss!

Lacerda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lacerda lands in his opponent's guard.
Masterson keeping moving, preventing Lacerda from controlling successfully.
Masterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lacerda on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Masterson is on top in guard.

Masterson gets to his feet. Lacerda looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Masterson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

It looks like Genival Lacerda has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lacerda tries for a takedown but Masterson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lacerda looks gassed!
Lacerda looks for a takedown but Masterson sprawls well.

Masterson lands a left and a right that send Lacerda crashing to the mat, dazed. Masterson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lacerda is rocked!

Crack! Masterson connects with the perfect overhand right and Lacerda falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Masterson!
