Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Coles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sim Polls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 2, fighting out of London, Sim Polls!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coles feints and then cracks Polls's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Polls down.
Coles ducks under a wild hook from Polls.
Polls digs a good body shot into Coles's ribs.
Sim Polls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coles takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Coles looks to land a body kick but Polls moved away.
Coles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Polls.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Coles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Polls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Polls fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coles avoids it really well and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Coles tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Polls lands with a short shot to the head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Polls crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Coles - the referee stops the clock and Polls gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Coles. Polls manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Coles keeps Polls at a distance using the push kick.
Coles does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Coles displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Polls.
Coles looks for the body kick but Polls saw that one coming.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Polls is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

The crowd cheers as Polls lands an impressive looking overhand right. Coles doesn't seem phased though.

Polls looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Polls seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Coles has his hands clasped together around Polls's back. He's all about the action.

Coles trying to hold on to Polls's head to control him but Polls postures up.
Polls throws a strike but Coles avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Polls throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coles works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Polls trying to control the position from guard on top but Coles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Polls drops back, looking for a kneebar! Coles looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Coles looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Coles!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Polls struggling a bit here.
Polls tries to bench press Coles off him but Coles keeps the position.
Polls is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Coles off and has taken his back!
