PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chi Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pueblo Leaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Leaf attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Li shoots in and drives through. Leaf sprawls well.

Li throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Leaf was covering up waiting for the punch and Li finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Leaf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Leaf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leaf is wriggling around but Li manages to pass to half guard.

Li is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Leaf sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Leaf throws a right hand that Li ducks under and follows up with a left that Li also avoids with ease.
Li closes the distance and clinches up with Leaf, looking for a takedown. Li pushes Leaf against the cage but Leaf circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
