Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sun Wukong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Penl!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penl scores with a takedown into Wukong's guard.
Wukong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Penl wants to pass the guard but Wukong is keeping the position.
Wukong being controlled here, momentarily.
Wukong trying to keep a closed guard but Penl is proving a slippery customer.
Penl is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wukong keeping moving, preventing Penl from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wukong on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wukong tries to get out of the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wukong lands a big head kick that sends Penl tumbling to the mat! Wukong takes a step backwards and waves Penl back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Penl is rocked!
It looks like Jason Penl has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Penl rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wukong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wukong dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Penl. That did some damage!
Nice body kick there by Wukong.
Penl looks gassed!

Wukong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Penl shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wukong but Wukong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A good leg kick by Wukong.
Wukong connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wukong lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wukong lands a big head kick that sends Penl tumbling to the mat! Wukong takes a step backwards and waves Penl back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Wukong lands with a thumping leg kick.

Penl takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wukong lands a brutal head kick. Penl looks out on his feet and Wukong throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
