Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan KO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Manny Pacquiao!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan KO!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KO is looking to clinch but Pacquiao is avoiding it.

Pacquiao shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pacquiao showed some decent athleticism there.
KO moves into full guard.
Pacquiao wants to control from the top but KO keeps moving.
KO manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
KO trying to control but Pacquiao is having none of it.
Pacquiao keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pacquiao is squirming around, avoiding KO's attempts to control the action.

Pacquiao is desperately trying to improve his position but KO has a good base and remains in mount.
KO can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pacquiao is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

KO got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pacquiao has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, KO has managed to get both his arms back between Pacquiao's legs - danger averted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pacquiao is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pacquiao seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but KO does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

KO is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

KO pulls Pacquiao in close to his closed guard and prevents Pacquiao from doing any damage or advancing position.
KO wants to get back to his feet but Pacquiao is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

KO takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

KO is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pacquiao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but KO manages to avoid it.

Pacquiao throws a solid leg kick but KO takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pacquiao.
KO misses with a wild body shot.

Pacquiao looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? KO is fending him off so far but Pacquiao persists. Nope, KO circles away and we're back to standing.

Pacquiao avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pacquiao fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
KO fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pacquiao looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
KO lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Manny Pacquiao will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Pacquiao stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
KO fails in his attempt to clinch.

Ivan KO showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


KO stuffs the takedown.
KO has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Some wild striking there from KO.
KO throws a hook but Pacquiao blocks it.
Pacquiao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has KO pinned against the cage. KO gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
KO's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Good leg kick by Pacquiao there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
KO wants to clinch up but Pacquiao keeps it at a distance.

Pacquiao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so KO is just riding it out for now. Pacquiao eventually gives up the hold.

KO has one foot on Pacquiao's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pacquiao takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Pacquiao takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Pacquiao counters with a good low kick that KO was not able to check.

Pacquiao throws a lazy right hand but KO sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

KO tries to clinch but Pacquiao moves away
and Pacquiao counters with a nice low kick that buckles KO's knee momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Manny Pacquiao showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Pacquiao has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
