Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Tevez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Tevez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ortiz scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Tevez to see if he's OK.
Ortiz tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Tevez is looking to regain half guard here but Ortiz keeps moving and retains side control.
Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tevez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Tevez's face as Ortiz controls the position.
Tevez tries to improve position but can't.
Tevez wants to control but Ortiz postures up.

Ortiz cracks Tevez with a big elbow.
Tevez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ortiz off and has taken his back!
Tevez really is a fat lump.

Tevez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Ortiz knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Ortiz for a finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tevez is persistently looking for the submission but Ortiz is defending it well.

Tevez is breathing heavily.
Tevez doesn't have the hooks in and Ortiz manages to turn into his guard.
Ortiz trying to control but Tevez is working from the bottom.

Tevez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ortiz has passed into half guard!
Ortiz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ortiz prevents Tevez from improving his position.
Ortiz is keen to just control but Tevez is a slippery customer.
Tevez wants to improve his position but Ortiz is controlling well.
Ortiz is stalling here. Tevez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ortiz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tevez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ortiz is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tevez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ortiz counters with a shoot takedown. Tevez fights it but they end up in guard.

Ortiz is looking to stand up but Tevez won't let him.
Tevez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ortiz wants to control from the top but Tevez keeps moving.
Ortiz throws a big right hand that misses.
Tevez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ortiz manages to get himself to full guard.
Ortiz is trying to control the position but Tevez postures up.
Ortiz is looking to stand up but Tevez isn't so interested in that idea.

Ortiz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tevez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Ortiz thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tevezis looking to pass into half guard but Ortiz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ortiz is in guard.
Tevez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ortiz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tevez is staying active underneath Ortiz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tevez tries to roll over but Ortiz keeps him under control.
Ortiz wants to stand but Tevez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Tevez manages to get to full guard.

Tevez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ortiz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ortiz gets to his feet. Tevez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Ortiz counters with a shoot takedown. Tevez fights it but they end up in guard.
Ortiz won't allow Tevez to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Ortiz dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Tevez tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ortiz counters with a left to the body.

Ortiz gets caught flat footed, as Tevez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tevez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Tevez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ortiz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ortiz has escaped and now he's on top!

Tevez looking for a guillotine here but Ortiz defends easily.

Tevez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ortiz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tevez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ortiz's back instead.
Ortiz is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ortiz wants to control his opponent's hands but Tevez gets his hands free.

Ortiz is in a bad position with Tevez working for a choke. Ortiz manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Tevez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ortiz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ortiz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ortiz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ortiz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ortiz prevents Tevez from getting back to his feet.
Ortiz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ortiz stands up over Tevez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Tevez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tevez seems to be working for a kimura but Ortiz defends the submission attempt.
Tevez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ortiz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tevez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ortiz!

Tevez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ortiz is on top in guard.

Tevez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ortiz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tevez.
Tevez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Ortiz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tevez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ortiz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlos Tevez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Ortiz lands with a big right hook that stumbles Tevez - he's out on his feet here! Ortiz follows up with another monster hook that separates Tevez from consciousness! Tevez falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Ortiz stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tim Ortiz!
