Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krusty Klown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaid kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls. Klown has chosen Throw up ya gunz as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Douglas Quaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Krusty Klown!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quaid lands a jab to the nose.
Klown tries for a takedown but Quaid sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Klown. Quaid does a little dance to reset his feet.
Quaid slips a jab and a cross from Klown.
Klown is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Klown shoots in looking for a takedown. Quaid tries to sprawl out of it but Klown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Quaid manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Klown looks to land a combination but Quaid avoids it well.
Klown misses the shot to the body.
Quaid misses with a series of wild punches.
Klown throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Quaid misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Quaid dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Quaid shoots in for a takedown but Klown shows good takedown defense.

Quaid shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Klown manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Klown connects with a nice short shot to Quaid's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quaid keeps working.
Quaid moves into full guard.
Klown won't allow Quaid to sweep him here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Quaid remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
